Transposing is a very simple relationship,
as in “this is to this as this is to this” below:

In this case, the Bb chord is to the C# key as the F# chord is to the A key.

A, Bb, B, C, C#, D, Eb, E, F, F#, G, Ab

This means that the user must understand to include any 7th Chords, Minor Chords, Diminished Chords, Suspended Chords, etc. Per the example above, if the “Original Chord” is a minor chord such as F#m, then the “New Chord” will be a minor chord too, such as Bbm.
